Christmas 1989 (82 images)
In 1989, we were living in Phoenix. We traveled back to Springfield for Christmas. It was the coldest Christmas ever I think. But Mom and Daddy waited until we all got back to go get the tree.
We all headed down towards Parchcorn - to the farm of Frank and Lois Estes. Actually not Parchcorn, but pretty close. At Pembina, instead of turning right down what is now called Parchcorn
Road, you turn left.
It was so cold, we just drove around in the field until we found the tree that we all agreed upon. We jumped out and Frank made fast work of cutting it down using his chainsaw. The guys quickly
tied it on the car roof and we were off.
We brought Nana over. Ann and Steve were there. Looks Like Scott and Judy were not there this year. But, then it was the typical activities - trimming the tree, last minute present wrapping, then
opening the presents, and of course, the Christmas puzzle!
During the week, we made a quick trip down to the lake - it had warmed up a bit, but was still cold. The views across the lake were spectacular.
Before leaving, we made another trip over to see Nana. Then we were back to Phoenix for our last 6 months out there.
Merry Christmas!
